Minji debuted with NewJeans in 2022 under ADOR/HYBE. In 2024, she and the group became embroiled in a corporate conflict, publicly supporting their CEO and eventually terminating their contract to rebrand as NJZ. Following a 2025 court ruling that restricted their activities, the group suspended music promotions but expressed no regrets over their actions.
Minji is a core member of the multinational girl group NewJeans, which debuted in August 2022 under the label ADOR. The group achieved immediate and significant success both in South Korea and internationally with their debut EP, due to an unconventional strategy and strong chart performance.
