Lily Jin Morrow was born on October 17, 2002, in Marysville, Victoria, Australia, to a Korean mother and Australian father. In 2009, when Lily was six years old, her family lost their home in the devastating Black Saturday bushfires that swept through Victoria, one of Australia's worst natural disasters. She turned to singing as a way to work through the trauma.
In 2010, Lily's family moved to Korea, where she worked as a child model and appeared in educational programs. Her father worked as an English teacher in Korea, wanting to ensure Lily stayed connected to her Korean heritage. After returning to Australia, she continued performing, working as a child actress and lead vocalist for the Australian kids band ASH (Association of Super Heroes). She played the female protagonist Sarah in the 2016 Australian children's film "The Weatherman's Umbrella."
In November 2014, at just 12 years old, Lily auditioned for the fourth season of SBS's reality competition show "K-pop Star" with Alicia Keys' "If I Ain't Got You." She finished in fourth place overall, eliminating in the show's nineteenth episode in March 2015. Her father taught her how to sing, and this foundation would prove crucial to her future career.
